1. Goodbye Jackson State

Blogging was never something that I really wanted to do. I’m usually more of an outspoken person—I just say what I think or how I feel (no matter what). This blog has allowed me to just say anything I want to say and feel any way I want to feel. I just type it instead of saying it out loud and maybe hurt someone’s feelings. (Not that I ever do that)

There are a lot of things that I’ve done this year that I didn’t imagine myself getting to be a part of. Jackson State has given me so many opportunities. Not only did I get an amazing student office job, but I made so many new friends that I will never forget. All of my teachers have been great. They couldn’t have done a better job at teaching me and helping me through my classes.

I’m transferring to the University of Tennessee at Martin this fall. I’m really excited, but a little scared. Jackson State has been like my home and now I’m moving farther away. I’m sure everything will be great once I get up there and get settled in.

As you already know, this is going to be my last blog for Jackson State. I just wanted to leave a few thoughts to a few people.

To Dee (my boss) I leave all of those awesome mother-daughter talks we had in your office. You always knew what to say.

To Victor (my other boss) I leave all of my whining. You can have it all. I don’t need it anymore since it’s not going to get me anywhere.

To Heather (my other other boss and now one of my best friends) I leave my love and all of the good times we had together in the office. You taught me to always keep on trying no matter how many red ink marks are on my paper and to never care about what anyone else said. Just be myself.

To Karen and Jean (the party animals) I leave all of those hilarious times we had in Dee’s conference room for birthdays and lunches.

Thank you so much to all of you. You have taught me so much about life and about myself. I’m going to miss all of you so much. I’ll be back to visit though. Don’t worry about that.

Goodbye Jackson State. It is a great school, and I will recommend that it should be where everyone begins.
