The life and times of a Jackson State Community College student.
School…parents…jobs….who can keep up with so much? It’s a lot harder than you might think. Being at Jackson State is the highlight of my days sometimes because that’s usually the only time I have to sit down. The homework isn’t so bad, I guess…unless you just don’t worry about it until the night before all of it is due at once. And then, what happens? Your parents get involved because they don’t want to feel like they are “wasting their money and your time.” We are all growing up at our own pace. Sometimes we need a push though. Our parents do some crazy things sometimes…deep down we know they do it because they care about us. But at that moment..it feels like it couldn’t get any worse. And jobs…good grief. I have two of them. I’m working at sonic (which is smelly) and I work at school (which is ok but I’m at school all the time). I know I made the decision to get two jobs and I knew it was going to be hard, but heck, we need money right? Juggling everything all at once can feel pretty overwhelming at times. That’s why you should always keep your friends handy. You know which friends…the ones who you can tell anything to and they will be completely honest with you and you know for sure that they won’t tell anyone. The friends that are the hardest to find in other words!! College is supposed to be one of the best parts of our lives. I’m going to do my best to try and make it that way
“Everything happens for a reason”……”Your parents always know what’s best”…..”Growing pains are just a pain”…..”Don’t whine…..EVER. It’s annoying and it won’t get you anywhere.”
